Meet Your Still Point
Let your rhythm come to a pause, as we induce a state of deep relaxation that allows the fight-or-flight responses of the nervous system to step down. This enhances the healing and restorative powers to the front which will liberate a wide range of self-correcting activity. Pressure to two particular spots at the back of the head will create slack the environment of the brain. When slack is offered here, fascial and piezoelectric feedback will create a neurological recognition of the slack, which shifts the body’s overall sense of itself: its tension nature eases, and a still-point is met.
Benefits of Basalt Hot Stones
These authentic volcanic stones are hand selected direct from the river beds of the Andes Mountains. They have not been cut or polished retaining their true healing properties and high heat retaining abilities. Hot stone melts away tension, eases muscle stiffness and increases circulation and metabolism. ... The hot stones also expand blood vessels, which encourages blood flow throughout the body. The hot stones have a sedative effect that can relieve pain, reduce stress and promote deep relaxation. During this class, smooth, flat, heated stones are placed on specific parts of your body including along the chakras.

Restorative yoga helps provide that physical and mental balance to prevent or reduce stress and anxiety, through the use of props that allow you to hold poses longer, giving you all the benefits of gentle, supported poses. Use a restorative practice to engage your rest and relaxing part of the nervous system and take your body into a state that allows for renewal and rejuvenation. Benefits include optimizing your energy flow to the organs, tissue renewal, and reduced “fight or flight” response. Restorative poses give you the opportunity to notice where you hold your tension. Meeting tension with breath and the support of props, you feel how it is to let go. In our current experience of sensory- overload, making space to unplug is an experience that can be used as a tool throughout the rest of your week. It is an interesting experience to still the body, as it takes time for the mind to finally let go of busy thoughts, feelings, and emotions.

Join Kate Carson, Artist and Yoga Instructor, for a Creative Chakra Workshop based on visualization, movement and creativity. We will begin with a chakra-balancing meditation, move into a creative yoga flow to invigorate your energy, attune to your chakra field with a visualization exercise, and end with a watercolour painting exercise focusing on a particular chakra that resonated with you throughout the journey. In this workshop you will experience a grounding, calm and creative energy emerge as you become attuned to your creative essence and experience the beauty of creation. Calling all Mommas-to-be!
Prenatal yoga is a fantastic tool to get your mind and body ready for birthing your new bundle of joy! Learn to control your breath in an efficient and calming way, get the physical body ready for birth by tapping into your inner warriors and working to open up the body and release the tension that comes from carrying a baby! Get together with like-minded people, support each other and perhaps make some new friends as well! This workshop will only be taught by prenatal certified yoga teachers, who have invested the time to learn more about what you're going through and are able to keep this practice safe for both you and the baby.
